I am Natalia Klimova - an art historian with an MBA and fifteen years in international legal consultancy, based in Dubai.
The Gulf art market runs on relationships. Prices are rarely published, transactions move through people rather than platforms, and the regulatory picture varies by jurisdiction. That is how this market has always worked, and it works. But it means that anyone building an art business here, or arriving from elsewhere, tends to start without understanding what they are entering.
